Miranda attended OSU where she earned her degree in Music Education. While there, she was a member of OSUMB and Concert Band. She was part of the Concert Band 1987 tour of Japan. Miranda was also a charter member of the Ohio Collegiate Brass.
She was the assistant band director at Whitehall for 14 years. After her daughter was born she gave up teaching to become a domestic goddess. Now she wishes that she had paid more attention in Home Ec class. These days you can find her reading the same story 20 times a day, washing sticky hands ad infinitum, and learning to bake from scratch.
Miranda has served as the BBC Band Chairperson – a significant leadership role – for the past 3 years and was previously Band Librarian. Miranda also serves as a member of the Salvation Army God and Country Concert planning committee.
Miranda is married to fellow BBC member Joe Burke. She also performs with the Grove City Community Winds, Dublin Silver Band and the OK Syncopators.
