Brian Stevens, Interim Music Director...

Brian Stevens is currently serving in his first year as Director of Bands at Dublin Jerome High School, and his 22nd year as a high school band director.  He holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the Ohio State University and a Master of Music Education with Instrumental Emphasis from Capital University.  Mr. Stevens began his teaching career as band and choir director at West Jefferson High School in West Jefferson, Ohio.  During his five years there, his bands and choirs received Superior Ratings at the district and state levels.  Mr. Stevens has spent the last 16 years as Director of Bands at Reynoldsburg High School and supervisor of the district band program.  While at Reynoldsburg, he posted consistent Superior Ratings with the Freshman Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony and Marching Band. 

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Stevens is a frequent adjudicator with the Ohio Music Education Association and currently serves on the Ohio Adjudicated Events Committee as Band Affairs Chair. Mr. Stevens spent the past 4 years as State Marching Band Affairs Chair, and Chair of State Marching Band Finals.  Mr. Stevens has also served as an Adjudicator for the 2008 London, England New Years Day Parade and Festival and Guest Conductor for several area honor bands.  Mr. Stevens is a member of the Ohio Music Education Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, The International Trumpet Guild, Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Honorary Fraternity and The American School Band Directors Association. 

Mr. Stevens is no stranger to the BBC, and was, in fact, a member of the organization in its cornet section for many years as well as a former Assistant Director. He brings a tremendous wealth of experience in this interim role - both with familiarity of the organization and the brass band genre.

Mr. Stevens resides in Dublin with his wife, Julie, and three children, Daniel, Hannah, and Nathan.

The BBC was founded by Dr. Paul Droste, Emeritus Professor of Music and The Ohio State University and former director of The OSU Marching Band. Dr. Droste served as Music Director for twenty years and retired in 2004. Learn more...

Before being appointed as Director in 2005, Tim Jameson joined the Brass Band of Columbus in 2001 as a member of the cornet section.  In his first year as Director, he led the band to its tenth North American Brass Band Association championship. During his nearly five year tenure the band also won the Hannaford Cup and celebrated its Silver anniversary. Mr. Jameson conducted the BBC for the last time at the 24th Annual God & Country Concert on March 13, 2010, and he was presented with a plaque recognizing his five years of service.
